Pinguino X.3 - jpmandon - 05-05-2012

Hi guys

Pinguino X.3 is now available for windows as a binary package. This version doesn't need to install Python and its libraries. It ( should.. ) work as is ( tested on windows XP and win7 32 ).
Many thanks for your report in the appropriate section of the forum.

RE: Pinguino X.3 - roberts478 - 06-05-2012

I am getting a problem with x.3.

Board: PIC32 Pinguino 220
Proc: 32MX220F032D
File: /home/mathew/penguino/pinguinoX.3 rev381 linux/examples/10.Libraries/Arduino Shield/Motor Driver Shield/dcmotor_pwm.pde
error while linking /home/mathew/penguino/pinguinoX.3 rev381 linux/examples/10.Libraries/Arduino Shield/Motor Driver Shield/dcmotor_pwm.o

I cant get anything to compile.

How do I get around this?

Cheers
Mat

Do any other samples work? Which ones?

Your OS is?

Hi roberts478.

Have you looked at the stdout file in your /source folder.

One thing that can cause problems is having spaces and certain other non alphanumeric characters in either the file or folder names. Under scores ( _ ) and dashes ( - ) should not cause problems but other characters can even when they are allowed by the operating system. One Windows user recently had problems due to an exclamation mark ( ! ) in a folder name and I have just had to replace a space in a folder name with an underscore ( _ ).

Regards

Hi,
I have spaces in the folder name. Here is the stdout file contents.

#----------------------------------------------------------------------------
# clean
#----------------------------------------------------------------------------
rm -f -v /home/mathew/pinguino/pinguinoX.3 rev381 linux/source/main32.o
rm -f -v /home/mathew/pinguino/pinguinoX.3 rev381 linux/source/main32.elf
rm -f -v /home/mathew/pinguino/pinguinoX.3 rev381 linux/source/main32.hex
rm -f -v /home/mathew/pinguino/pinguinoX.3 rev381 linux/p32/obj/non-free/processor.o
#----------------------------------------------------------------------------
# copy
#----------------------------------------------------------------------------
cp /home/mathew/pinguino/pinguinoX.3 rev381 linux/p32/obj/non-free/32MX220F032D.o /home/mathew/pinguino/pinguinoX.3 rev381 linux/p32/obj/non-free/processor.o
cp: target `linux/p32/obj/non-free/processor.o' is not a directory
make: *** [copy] Error 1

The spaces are making it fail.

Either add proper quotes etc to the commands which produce the above or remove spaces from the file/directory names.

RE: Pinguino X.3 - roberts478 - 06-05-2012

Hi,
I just changed the folder name and now the basic examples are compiling. However, when I try to compile the examples/10.Libraries section for my mx220 nothing wants to compile.

Thanks
