BTW, I really really simplified make to try to get the basics across. It's far more capable than that.

Its manual is available online (probably we're using GNU make but they're all quite similar, even the M$ variant though it's annoyingly crippled and different).

maybe a stupid question but, besides all this wonderful information for Linux users, what is the relation with the subject of SPI and I2C interfering with interrupts ?

He wanted to know how some C functions work so I was showing how to get the ASM listing. Just read back through the posts....

Essentially it all works the same on Windows because the IDE installs Linux tools onto Windows. That's because Windows lacks such tools.
