RE: Adding an RTC to MICRO
Hi

For my applications I preferred the DS1306 chip because work with SPI interface.
In PINGUINO-MICRO the SPI and I2C ports are available only on UEXT connector, but is very easy emulate a SPI port using standard I/O pin, in this manner I placed the chip on the main board without the need of the flat cable.

I ported a library for PINGUINO32 but for the moment, I haven't time to test it.

Hi

Now in 863 version of Pinguino32 I added support for DS1306 which can use standard SPI port or emulated SPI port (for this I added SPILoc.c).

For the moment are only for P32 but I think these library can work even with P8 procesor.

Hardware:
Solder a 32.768KHz crystal directly between the pins CON1-1 and CON1-2. The 27pF capacitors to GND can be connected in a more relaxed way (ie. protoboard).

Software:
In the Pinguino IDE select a "PIC32 Pinguino" or a "PIC32 Pinguino OTG" board.
Of course, the names of the pins will be changed (ie. Pin 11 RD2 will become Pin 0).
