Unexpected blinking on Olimex Pinguino Micro
Hi All.
I use X.3 with a Olimex Pinguino Micro and I have run into an odd phenomenon: LEDs attached to RE0..RE5 blink by themselves!
I have a larger application (attaching to a TETRA radio) with some control LEDs on other pins and they work just fine, but when I got to my "relay outputs", things started to go crazy.

I turn my "relays" (i.e. LEDs) on, RE0..RE5, and all start to blink independently, at slighty independent speeds, all at about 120Hz. It looks like a christmas decoration!

Any suggestions?

Here is a stripped down program to isolate the phenomenon:

const int RELAY1 = 29; //RE0
const int RELAY2 = 27; //RE1
const int RELAY3 = 26; //RE2
const int RELAY4 = 25; //RE3
const int RELAY5 = 24; //RE4
const int RELAY6 = 23; //RE5

void setup() {
// put your setup code here, to run once:
pinMode(RELAY1, OUTPUT);
pinMode(RELAY2, OUTPUT);
pinMode(RELAY3, OUTPUT);
pinMode(RELAY4, OUTPUT);
pinMode(RELAY5, OUTPUT);
pinMode(RELAY6, OUTPUT);

digitalWrite(RELAY1,LOW);
digitalWrite(RELAY2,LOW);
digitalWrite(RELAY3,LOW);
digitalWrite(RELAY4,LOW);
digitalWrite(RELAY5,LOW);
digitalWrite(RELAY6,LOW);

}

void loop() {
// put your main code here, to run repeatedly:

}

RE: Unexpected blinking on Olimex Pinguino Micro
Well, I got aware that this part of the PIC is a Parallel Master Port (http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/De...61128G.pdf)

and I inserted this code, to no avail (still blinking):

void setup() {
IEC1CLR = 0x0004;
PMMODE = 0x0000;
PMCON = 0x0000;
PMAEN = 0x0000;
PMCONSET = 0x0000;
IFS1CLR = 0x0004;

RE: Unexpected blinking on Olimex Pinguino Micro
Nvm I solved it. The little LEDs were too heavy. Still smaller LEDs are OK.
Note to self: port E is weak on this chip.
