16 temp, 4 Analog In, 2 isolted interrupt Board
Hi

Here's to you, my last fatigue.

As previous board on this is used PINGUINO32-MICRO device.

This board is designed to acquire temperature, analog and frequency signals and send the data on serial port (RS232 or RS485).

The board had:

- 16 OneWire channels to read 16 temperature sensor DS18B20.
I do not use OneWire bus to avoid maintenance problem due to bus reconfiguration in case of failure of a sensor.

- 4 10bit analog in to acquire 4-20mA signals

- 2 Isolated digital input connected to Int1 / Int4.
Is possible use these inputs ad digital in, period meter or frequency input.

What kind of sensor do you connect to this input?
I know, 4 - 20 mA is standard signal (live zero) and a PLC can handle this. But I don't have any experience with this kind of sensors.

Hi

My principal job now is on heat recovery plant.
The principal parameters measured are flow-rate (interrupt in), temperature (16 channels for control 4 units), level (pressure sensors with 4-20mA out).

The PLC can handle this signals very well but my board cost 35€ an equivalent PLC 1530€ 43 time more.

Where comes the heat from? A machine or a building? And what you are doing with the energy? Process heat or hot water generation?

How do you measure the current of the standard signal and what resolution do you need? I've seen a resistor and a diode on your board at the analog inputs but no opamp. You have just a few millivolts drop at your resistor. Is this suffice to measure with an ADC?

A lot of questions, I know. But I'm very interested in this kind of things Smile

You are right. But you need the skills to develop such a complex thing. For most people a PLC is much easier to program than a µController.

Hi

We collect hot wastewater in dyehouse plants.
With this water we heat clean water used in the plant.


I use internal 10bit ADC with an external VRef of 2500mV (LT1009-2,5). The diode is used only for polarity protection, the 124Ohm is sufficient to generate a 2480mV at 20mA


Exactly, this is my goal, everyone is happier to earn more.
