How to use "USB_bulk_read_from_pinguino.py"
I'm trying to test USB bulk, I saw the "USB_bulk_read_from_pinguino.py"

How can I use it?

I tried something without a successful result...
Quote:$ python2 USB_bulk_read_from_pinguino.py
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "USB_bulk_read_from_pinguino.py", line 39, in <module>
dh = pinguino.open()
NameError: name 'pinguino' is not defined

note: I don't know nothing about python, or what is or where is the 'pinguino' module

You have to compile and upload USB_bulk_write_to_host.pde on your Pinguino Board.
Then you start USB_bulk_read_from_pinguino.py. I use idle to do it.
I just tried it and it worked fine.
I use now bootloaderv4.12 on a 18f47j53-A board. I do know it works also with bootloaderv4.8 v4.9 and 18f26j50 or 18fx550.

If you need a custom application you can describe what you wish in order I adapt the pinguino pde file and the python application.
You can learn Python programming. It is not too hard. So you can study and modify existing scripts.

@gtcbreizh

Thats what I did, and using idle don't make any difference:

RE: How to use "USB_bulk_read_from_pinguino.py"
Are you sure you upload upload USB_bulk_write_to_host.pde on your Pinguino Board ?
From your error message :
dh = pinguino.open()
NameError: name 'pinguino' is not defined
I can say that your board is not recognized as an Usb device.
What bootloader version do you use ? What version as Pinguino IDE do you use. What microcontroller ? 18fx550, 18f4753, 18f26j50 ?
Before trying USB bulk did you successfully use a simple blink application ?

Done in rev. 910.
It is easier to complain than it is to do, but it is better to do than it is to complain.
