PINGUINO v11 pre-release
Hi all,
Pinguino v11 is almost ready.
This pre-release if for GNU/Linux only (but the Windows one is coming soon) and can be installed from : http://pinguino.cc/download.php
Some new features :
- automatic installation (no more extra package to install or files to edit), the IDE should work out-of-the-box
- new IDE (based on Qt, with mips16 and optimization option for all 32-bit Pinguino)
- new SDCC (3.4.1) and GPUTILS versions
- new GCC Mips Elf toolchain (based on GCC-4.8.2, Binutils-2.24 and Newlib-2.1.0)
- new servo and stepper library for the 32-bit family
- a lot of bugs fixed
- ...

Please try it and report any possible bug at https://github.com/PinguinoIDE/pinguino-...state=open
Enjoy,
Régis & Yeison

RE: PINGUINO v11 pre-release
Is it easy / possible still to download a tar or zip without having to do an install, then untar/unzip the files? What's needed?

RE: PINGUINO v11 pre-release
Hello John,
It is still possible Smile.
You can find .zip or .tar.lzma here.
It is also possible to modify the path to the IDE and user's directory in paths.cfg and it will be soon possible to change the path to the compilers.
Any other feature can be requested here.

RE: PINGUINO v11 pre-release
Talking about Fedora or other yum-based linux distro (so not Mageïa), a simple solution could be to use apt :
Code:
sudo yum install apt
and run the installer script as-is.
Another one could be to use alien :
Code:
sudo yum install alien
and convert .deb to .rpm (-r) packages :
Code:
sudo alien -r ${PKGNAME}.deb
and then install them with :
Code:
sudo yum localinstall ${PKGNAME}.rpm
I guess dependencies issues could be solved with :
Code:
sudo yum localupdate
Can you try this script ?

RE: PINGUINO v11 pre-release
I installed it under Win XP 32 bits.
Compiling and uploading a simple blink example work very well (pinguino 18f4550).
Notice the Libusb driver was already installed.
I also did the CDC GetKey example. The USB communication port is well created but with Hyperterminal I cannot communicate.
I analyse the problem more deeply. I don't think it is owing to the installer.

On Win7 (64bits) I could not upload the blink example. Is it owing to my 64 bits Win7 ?

Hi André, thanks for your feedback.

I'm happy that the installer has work for you on XP. I work a lot on this code.

About CDC, I think that you need the CDC driver to make this work fine. I can include this device driver on the installer, maybe this help.

The installer code is only for Windows 32-bit, now.
