Pinguino 4550 and MPLABX

Question  Pinguino 4550 and MPLABX

I have built a DIY 4550-1 board with bootloader v4.14 and it's working great with Pinguino IDE.

Now I would like to try it with MPLABX because i need to learn that for my classes.

Anyone has tried it? How can I do it?

Many thanks

RE: Pinguino 4550 and MPLABX
Do you want to keep the bootloader ? Then you need to include the Pinguino 4550 linker script (boot4.18f4550.lkr) in your MPLAB project so your program will be placed after the bootloader code. With v4.14 it means your MPLAB program should start at 0x0C00.

There is nothing to do if you plan to use ICSP programmer to upload your program from MPLAB. But if you still want to use the bootloader, then you will have to use the stand-alone uploader ( here.
It is easier to complain than it is to do, but it is better to do than it is to complain.

If you want to learn MPLABX, you'd better forget Pinguino. Pinguino package the most thing you will need to learn.
