Hello from a newbie
I have been playing with electronics since the advent of transistors and dabbled with micros by building my first which had 256 words of memory. Not Kbytes but only 256 x 16 bits. It was programmed in binary machine code using 16 switches and the output was binary on leds. I also used  Z80 Nascom 1 with an assembler before moving on to other computers. My preferred method of programming is with a soldering iron and so I have taken up the challenge with PICS again. As I have just managed to get Pinguino working on my 64bit Linux system, rather than the Windows XP I started with, I am using it to develop a MIDI controller.
