FYI: MPLAB® Xpress Cloud-based IDE
I thought this may be of interst to some folks...

CHANDLER, Ariz., Feb. 15, 2016 — Microchip Technology announced its MPLAB® Xpress Cloud-based Integrated Development Environment (IDE) will allow PIC chips to be programmed with zero downloads, sign-in or setup needed to start designing. Microchip’s free, cloud-based IDE brings the most popular features of the award-winning MPLAB X IDE to Internet-connected PCs, laptops or tablets.

MPLAB Xpress can be accessed from anywhere in the world at http://www.microchip.com/Xpress-021516a

RE: FYI: MPLAB® Xpress Cloud-based IDE
I never got the attraction of "cloud" IDE's ... why would I want my code flying through the net?

Mind you, it does not matter for open source, I guess I've been a commercial developer too long.

Not for me.
