[solved?] installer v1.7.0.8 fails with V12 on Win7 64bit
Hello,
I tried several times to install V12 on windows 7 but it fails always in the last few steps.
Tried different folder locations, but even with the default installation path -
at the end I always  get the error message:

post_install not installed. Error code was: 2!

and the shortcut on desktop does not work. (pinguino.bat not found)

(Attached the complete installation protocol as zip ifle)

Attached Files
.zip   install_V12_win7_64_txt.zip (Size: 20.82 KB / Downloads: 8)

RE: installer v1.7.0.8 fails with V12 on Win7 64bit
Ok, found that I can run the IDE simply running .../Python27/Scripts/pinguinoide.pyw

One additional issue was the use of xc8 compiler. It seems to be not possible to manually adjust the path in the IDE.
Changes are not recognized when trying to build and always reset when closing the IDE.

Had to close the IDE and put it into pinguino.conf file. Save and close that file and then restart the IDE ...

About the error with the installer there was a typo in v1.7.0.8. I fixed it and updated the installer to v1.7.0.9

About the Path we still have to improve that.
You might try to run C:\Python27\Scripts\pinguino-reset.py after changing the path in the IDE and before restarting the IDE.
Please, tell me if it works ?
It is easier to complain than it is to do, but it is better to do than it is to complain.

Now I always get the error:
PyUSB not found. Installin it ...
PyUSB not installed. Error code was 1!

Tried on different types of windows computers. No idea what to do :-(

Hi vloki_
I met the same thing updating my v12 installation.
I solved it in this way :
pyusb-1.0.0b2 was already installed in Python2.7. I uninstalled it then reinstalled it manually using the included setup.py.
Then I restarted the Windows installer which terminated the installation.

Ok, installed PyUSB manually -> https://sourceforge.net/projects/pyusb/?...p_redirect

Desktop link for IDE still didn't work. (.bat not found)
I changed it like above and edited the path to xc8 in the conf File.

Which "exact same" do you mean?
(I somehow got it working like described)
