18LF bootloader

Smile  18LF bootloader
I want to build a Pinguino board, and I have a few 18LF4550 chips.
I tried the 4550 bootloaders, but nothing seems to work with the LF version.
What would it take to create an 18LF bootloader?
The 18F4550 and 18LF4550 are nearly the same.
It would be nice if the LF version was supported.

Thanks in advance,

RE: 18LF bootloader
I think there should be no difference and the bootloader should work with the LF version too.
Which programmer do you use?
At which voltage do you want to run them?

RE: 18LF bootloader
Pickit 3 programmer, programming is at 12v, normal is 5v.
I have loaded every bootloader for the 18F4550, nothing works.
It works great on a regular 18F4550.
I think there is a vague difference between the two.
There is something about the LF version that is different.

I tried again this morning, I have a version 2 and version 4 bootloader for Pinguino 4550.
I use the version 4 on the my 18F4550. I programmed the 18LF with both bootloaders,
and neither worked. There is something different as it relates to Pinguino.
I can program the 18LF with Microchip MPLABX, and the chip is fine.
It just doesnt work with Pinguino.

RE: 18LF bootloader
Hey
I'm pretty sure that PIC18LF2550 is the same as PIC18F2550, because I have tested it in my other project.
I'm not sure about 4550, but it might be similiar.

Was you able to load a Pinguino bootloader to the chip, and then does it work??
I can load the bootloader, but the bootloader doesn't allow you to program the chip. And the LED is not blinking.
So, I can't do anyhting with it. But if I load a 18F4450 with the same bootloader, it all works proper.
So, my guess is, it needs the chip to be recognized with a 18LF4550 linker file in the bootloader.
Currently, there isn't one.

I am currently working with the programmer(Regis Blanchot) to resolve this.

RE: 18LF bootloader
Well, all I know is that in the past I used PIC18LF2550 with PICKIT2 hex (in PICKIT2 clone) and it worked, while the original PICKIT2 was using PIC18F2550.
That's why I said I'm pretty sure they are the same.
I havent tested PINGUINO with 18 LF pics, but if you need help, just tell me.
I have PIC18LF2550 and PIC18F2550 at hand. So if you need testing or anything, just tell me.
PS: I might also have some PIC18F4550 (or LF) lying around, but I'm not sure.

I am referring to Pinguino only.
I am using Pickit3. The LF versions are not listed or supported under PINGUINO.
As I stated above, I am working with the programmer to resolve this.
