Hi guys,

I remember I've had the same issue under Windows 10.
Here is what what you might do : (I guess it's about the same under Windows XP)
1/ Right-click on the Pinguino folder
2/ Chose Properties in the menu
3/ Go to the Security tab
4/ Give your User all the permissions on read, write, ...

I hope it helps.

If it doesn't work :

1/ edit the pinguino.bat file 
2/ replace pythonw.exe by python.exe

At last ! .. It is working now and compiling successfully !
I did changed pythonw.exe into python.exe
